TODAY'S TEXT
Luke 13:6-9
MESSAGE
In this parable, the owner of the vineyard came seeking for fruits from the fig tree and kept meeting with consecutive disappointments for three years. The owner of the vineyard signifies God, while the fig tree represents us his children.
The sad truth about the unfruitful fig tree is that, irrespective of what had been invested into its nurturing; the owner asked that it be cut down. This is contrary to his earlier plans and expectations for the fig tree.
Child of God, when the increase God expects from us is not seen or recorded, we run the risk of being considered irrelevant in God's program on the earth.
The unfruitful fig tree was considered as a waste of the resources invested in its growth and nurturing. Why should it use up the soil for nothing? May God not see us as wasters of His divine enablement in our lives.
Continuous increase secures us a place of relevance in what God plans to do with us. May you not be like the unfruitful branch of Jesus that is cut off, cast away, which withered and was gathered by men and burned with fire (John
15:6).
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS
In every life, likewise, there are elements that can hinder the production of healthy fruit (Increase). Purge yourself of it.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, please help me not to be a waster of your investments meant for increase in my life, Amen.
